Something About Me: I am studying fairy tales by marginalized authors right now.
I sat in the dappled sea of eclipse shadows this afternoon, working on my class. Children’s lit never looked so good as it did with those magical shadows draped across it! The air cooled as the moon slid in front of her dance partner, and the whole world settle into a green-gray hush, waiting for the sun to return. Even the cicadas were silent! I pressed my cheap paper glasses over the lens of my camera and managed to snap some photos.
Books to Introduce Me:
Jack Prelutsky's The Dragons Are Singing Tonight is a children's book that I discovered my second time around! It opened up a world of wonder with images and sounds. My favorite was "Boom the Thunder Dragon."

I grew into this re-imagined fairy tale when I was in elementary school and I loved the transformation of the traditional fairy tale heroine and her clever daughter.
